Trent Alexander-Arnold Agrees to Join Real Madrid on Free Transfer This Summer.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has reportedly agreed to join Real Madrid this summer when his Liverpool contract expires.

According to talkSPORT, the 26-year-old right-back has reached an agreement on personal terms with the Spanish giants, signing a five-year deal worth over £220,000 per week—a significant setback for Arne Slot’s Liverpool squad.

The report indicates that Alexander-Arnold has been in talks with Carlo Ancelotti’s team since January, with Liverpool kept informed throughout the process.

Amid growing speculation, Betfair suspended betting on his move to Madrid after a surge of wagers on Tuesday morning. Before this, the odds of his transfer to Los Blancos were as short as 2/7.

This potential free transfer aligns with Real Madrid’s recent approach of securing top players at the end of their contracts, as seen with David Alaba, Antonio Rudiger, and Kylian Mbappe. Alexander-Arnold would also reunite with his close friend and fellow English international, Jude Bellingham, at the Bernabéu.
