President Bola Tinubu, through his spokesman Bayo Onanuga, has warned Peter Obi to be cautious with his statements and stop undermining the government.
This follows Obi’s criticism, where he accused Tinubu’s administration of corruption and claimed democracy in Nigeria had collapsed.
The presidency dismissed Obi’s remarks as exaggerated and lacking a solid foundation. Onanuga argued that if democracy had truly collapsed, Obi wouldn’t have the freedom to express such views. He labeled Obi a “discontented and disgruntled” politician.
The controversy arose after Obi made his comments at a colloquium hosted by Emeka Ihedioha, where former President Olusegun Obasanjo also criticized the Tinubu administration.
