Tensions rose in Rivers State as Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his executive council were denied access to the Assembly Quarters, where the House of Assembly sits.
The governor had arrived to re-present the 2025 Appropriation Bill, following a Supreme Court ruling, but found the gate locked. Despite attempts to contact Speaker Martins Amaewhule and other lawmakers, he received no response.
Fubara, accompanied by his Chief of Staff and the SSG, expressed frustration but remained hopeful that the lawmakers might respond later, emphasizing that his actions were in the best interest of the people.
