SPORT: Graham Potter Appointed West ham New Manager After Sacking Of Julen Lopetegui.

Following Julen Lopetegui's dismissal, West Ham United has named Graham Potter as their new manager.

Lopetegui was fired on Wednesday after a largely lackluster tenure in charge, leaving the team sitting in 14th place in the Premier League and seven points above the bottom three.

The Hammers have now looked to Potter, who previously held positions at Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea, to get their season going.

Although Potter has committed to a two-and-a-half-year contract at London Stadium, there are rumors that he may have a six-month break option if specific goals are not reached. "I'm happy to be here.

I wanted to make sure that I was a good fit for the club I was joining and that I waited until a job that I thought was perfect for me came around.

I feel that way about West Ham United," Potter said on the team's website.

In his first media appearance since his appointment on Thursday, Potter reaffirmed his pride and enthusiasm for the new task.

"Very proud, very excited," he remarked. "I'm honored to be the head coach of this incredible team today. Large history, large tradition, large expectations, and large challenges.

It's almost like Christmas, and I'm ecstatic. Christmas for adults; I didn't get the best sleep last night, but it was simply the excitement.

I'm eager to get started and meet the players and supporters. "I have had a good rest over the past 20 months. You talk to a lot of people throughout that period. Many discussions with various directors and owners.

But it was crucial that I choose the best course of action for me at the appropriate moment. It felt appropriate to me as soon as I chatted with this club.

The team is fantastic, and its devoted supporters are passionate, informed, aware of football, and know what they want.
