Security operatives have successfully rescued 36 kidnapped victims during a joint operation in eastern Sokoto State.
The operation, carried out on Monday, focused on the Tidibali forest along the Isa-Sabon Birni-Goronyo axis.
The victims, who were abducted from various communities in Sokoto and Zamfara states, had been held captive in the forest prior to their rescue.
A resident of Isa town confirmed that 36 individuals were brought to the town, along with two deceased bodies. “I believe several bandits were killed during the operation,” he added.
Colonel Ahmed Usman, the Special Adviser on Security to Governor Ahmed Aliyu, confirmed the incident and acknowledged the operation's success. However, he noted that he had not yet received a detailed briefing.
