After years of sexual abuse, two teenage girls in Pakistan were caught by the police for killing their father by burning him alive.
The incident happened in Gujranwala on January 1st, and on Tuesday of this week, their father passed away from his wounds in the hospital following the execution.
"The girls said that they decided among themselves to find a 'permanent solution,'" local police chief Rizwan Tariq told reporters.
Tariq went on to say that their father was still asleep when the sisters ignited him with gasoline from a motorcycle.
He further claimed that the step-sisters disclosed that their father had attempted to attack the younger sibling twice while raping their older sister for a year.
He went on to say that although their moms, who were both married to the man, knew of the abuse, they were unaware of the sisters' plot for retaliation.
To safeguard the identities of the girls, who come from diverse maternal origins, the man's name has not been revealed. One mother has also been taken into custody by police, and the other is currently being looked at.
After the inquiry is complete, we hope to present them before the court in a few days," Tariq said.
