This decision stems from a dual objective: to ensure that the seized fuel is put to productive use and to alleviate the burden of transportation costs, which often escalate due to increased demand during the festive period. By releasing the PMS into the market, the initiative seeks to bridge supply gaps and enhance the availability of fuel for public consumption.

ACG Ejibunu emphasized that the auction is a proactive measure designed to support the public during a critical period, ensuring smoother mobility and reducing the ripple effects of fuel shortages. This move not only demonstrates a commitment to upholding regulatory enforcement but also showcases the agency’s sensitivity to the socio-economic realities faced by citizens during the holidays.
