The studio portion of the one-story building was completely destroyed by the fire, which began at approximately 5:30 p.m.
As emergency personnel fought the fire, commuters were advised to stay away from the area after the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority reported the incident on its official X account. "Ikoyi Fire Accident" was uploaded.
Firefighters are already on the scene trying to extinguish the fire that is burning Radio Nigeria.
"Meanwhile all the roads have been blocked for motorists to go through alternative routes."
First on the site were firefighters from the Dolphin, Ebute Elefun, and Oba Oniru Fire Stations, with assistance from the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Fire Service, and other emergency personnel.
Investigations are being conducted, however the cause of the fire is still unknown. There have been no recorded casualties.
