The Senate will reconvene on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, instead than on September 17, as originally scheduled.
This was announced by Senate Clerk Chinedu Akubueze in an internal document titled "Change in Resumption Date from Summer Break" that was distributed to all senators on Wednesday.
In the document, it was mentioned that the Senate leadership had ordered a one-week delay in the Red Chamber's resumption from its annual recess, which had been originally set for Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
The memo said, "Please be advised that Tuesday, September 17, 2024, has been postponed to Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 11 am, as the day of the ongoing recess. "I appreciate your cooperation and understanding."
Remember that the Senate started its yearly recess on July 23.
