The 66-year-old actor Keenen Ivory Wayans was present when two robbers trashed the estate, while the 51-year-old actor, who is most known for his role in White Chicks, was not at home during the crime.
The house invasion happened last Saturday at around 2:30 a.m., while Marlon wasn't home, according to law enforcement sources. Two robbers destroyed a back window to gain entry to the house after breaking into his Encino property from the backyard.
Keenen Ivory Wayans, Marlon's older brother, apparently heard a disturbance wake him up but brushed it off as nothing and went back to sleep.
The 66-year-old was unaware of what had transpired until Marlon's employees arrived back at the property at 8:00 a.m., according to TMZ.
According to sources, Keenen was taken aback when he learned that burglars had broken into his brother's home without his knowledge and taken several thousand dollars' worth of cash and a safe.
Police are also examining the Los Angeles area for any camera footage as part of their investigation into the crime.
The houses of two NBA players were broken into a few weeks prior. Both shooting guard Talen Horton-Tucker of the Utah Jazz and former basketball player Patrick Patterson were killed.
