In the Imo State communities of Ezeogba, Awaka, and Owerri North Local Government Area, Ginika passed away in the home of her boyfriend, Charles Ndukwu.

The incident occurred on Sunday, June 2, 2024, according to Mrs. Caroline Nneji, the late nurse's mother, who spoke with Punch.

Last Sunday, my only daughter went to see a young man named Charles and died. We reared our only daughter, who was 22 years old.

As a nurse, she treats patients at her pharmacy and occasionally visits their homes. She visited a young man on this fateful Sunday and passed away in his home," she recounted. "My one and only eye is gone.

What transgression have I committed that is beyond forgiveness?" she sobbed.

"Around 9 pm on Sunday, the said young man by name Charles Ndukwu came to our house and told us that our daughter was unconscious and he took her to the hospital where the doctor confirmed her dead," the mother described how she was notified of her daughter's passing.

Mr. Nneji, the stepfather of the deceased nurse, claims that the woman passed away after consuming pepper soup that her boyfriend had purchased.

The suspect, Charles Ndukwu, informed us that he went and bought pepper soup for our daughter, but after giving it to her, she passed out.

He hurried her to Edochie Clinic, Awaka in Owerri North, where the attending physician pronounced her dead," the suspect added.

It was learned that the police had detained and placed Ndukwu under arrest so they could conduct an investigation.

The deceased's parents, unable to contain their grief, requested that the state government and police look into the case in detail in an effort to bring their son's death mysteriously to light and bring his parents' family justice.

All we ask of the state government and the police is a thorough inquiry to determine the truth behind our daughter's unexplained death.

We are merely looking for the truth; after all, our daughter is not resurrected," they stated to the newspaper.

ASP Henry Okoye, a spokesperson for the State Police Command, verified the occurrence. The police are looking into the situation. He stated.

The family and the general public are being reassured by the police that every effort will be made to determine the cause of the unexplained young girl's death.
