Knife Violence: In an apparent random attack in the parking lot of a grocery store, a woman fatally stabs a 3-year-old boy to death.

About fifteen miles outside of Cleveland, on Monday, June 3, at 3 p.m., North Olmsted police reported that the boy, Julian, and his mother, Margot Wood, had both been stabbed.

According to the authorities, Julian was stabbed in the cheek and back. The injuries to Wood, 38, were not life-threatening, according to the police. 

Bionca Ellis, 32, the suspect, was apprehended, according to the police. At a news conference on Tuesday, North Olmsted police Detective Sgt. 

Matt Beck stated that Ellis and the victims were strangers and referred to the incident as a "random act of violence.

Ellis went to a nearby store and bought "some sort of kitchen knife." On her way to the Giant Eagle, Beck said, Ellis "spotted Mrs. Wood and her son and then proceeded to follow them out to the parking lot.

Then, when Julian was sitting in the shopping cart, Ellis is said to have attacked the mother and son close to their car.

During the press conference on Tuesday, North Olmsted Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones stated, "As a mother, I cannot even begin to fathom this sense of loss that this family is going through.""The city and I are both grieving for you.

While more charges may be brought against Ellis in the future, he was charged with aggravated murder.
