It was discovered that the young men who were decapitated were local residents, ranging in age from twenty to thirty-five.

The attack took place between 3 and 7 p.m., and according to sources who spoke with The Nation, the more than 50 terrorists were well-armed with advanced weaponry and allowed to go free.

It was also discovered that the gunmen requested family members of the deceased to carry the decapitated bodies as they recorded photographs and films of the victims after they had been beheaded.

The ten young guys who refused to be recruited by the terrorists—who had already picked out twenty adults—were shot at close range while the other ten perished. The community's residents think that Boko Haram militants, not merely robbers, invaded them.

They warned us of the same consequences for everyone who refused to join their ranks. They claimed to have given an example of the ten young people who were beheaded.

To Boko Haram these guys belong. We were advised to leave the neighborhood for them, but we refused, so they said we brought it upon ourselves. An insider added, "We were warned that we had to leave the community or our children had to join them.

At the time of publication, neither the state administration nor the state Police Command has responded to the latest occurrence.

When calls were placed to the Niger State Police Public Relations Officer, his line would not ring. Nonetheless, Mohammed Sani Musa, the senator for the Niger East Senatorial District, acknowledged the massacre and bemoaned that his heart was still bleeding because his people were being butchered like animals.
