Federal Government Declares June 17 and 18 as Public Holidays for Eid-ul-Adha, Urges Prayers for National Harmony and Prosperity.

On behalf of the federal government, the statement was made on Friday, June 14, by Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of the Interior. On this occasion, Tunji-Ojo congratulated the whole Muslim Ummah, both at home and abroad.

In addition to using the occasion to pray for harmony, prosperity, and the stability of our nation, he urged the Muslim Ummah to continue imbibing the spirit of peace, kindness, and sacrifice as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him). 

In a statement signed by the Ministry's Permanent Secretary, Dr. Aishetu Ndayako, the Minister gave assurances that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration was dedicated to protecting the lives and property of every Nigerian.

The Minister wished a happy Eid-ul-Adha to the Muslim Ummah and counseled all Nigerians to assume responsibility in order to leave a flourishing Nigeria for our future generations.
