EFCC Detains Eleven Suspects and Impounds Eight Trucks for Illegal Mining in Kwara State.

The suspects were detained while transporting various solid minerals, including marble stone, white powder, lepidolite, and lithium, to an unidentified location, according to the EFCC, which made the announcement via its X handle on Friday, June 7.

Ibrahim Gambo, Hakeem Saka, Ahmad Muktar, Sulaiman Ibrahim, Ibrahim Muhammad, Jamiu Mustapha, Rabiu Musa, Aisha Muham, Abdulwasiu Hannafi, Qudus Olalere, and Babatunde Hakeem are the suspects, according to the Agency's statement.

On Wednesday, May 5, 2024, they were apprehended based on reliable information at several sites in Ogbomosho, Oyo State, and while transporting various solid minerals possibly marble stone, white powder, lithium, and lepidolite to unidentified locations without the required legal license. 

After the current investigations are completed, the suspects will be arraigned in court.
