11 Killed in Deadly Bandit Attack on Magarya Hamlet in Zamfara State

 


Eleven people were killed when armed bandits raided the Magarya hamlet in Zamfara State's Zurmi Local Government Area. Among the victims were four civilians and seven mobile police officers. Read full article

The incident was verified by Lecturer Aminu Muhammad Kaura, who stated that the bandits assaulted the community on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, evening. 

Three vehicles were also torched, one of which belonged to Magarya's district head and brother of Nasir Magarya, the former speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly.

In a deadly attack that occurred yesterday evening in Magarya town, Zurmi Local Government Area, Zamfara State, 11 people were killed, including 7 mobile police officers and 4 civilians.

Three cars were set on fire, one of which belonged to the district head of Magarya 2th, who is also the blood brother of Nasir Magarya, the former speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly.

 In this heinous act carried out by the armed bandits at Magarya town, the parlor and chairs in the home of Hon. Nasir Magarya, the former speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, were completely set on fire.

Also Magarya model primary school was set ablaze and many people sustained different degrees of injuries.
 
"We condole with the Hon former speaker zamfara state House of assembly Hon Nasir magarya and the people of magarya town over this terrible incident.

We ask God Almighty to grant you something better than what you have lost, to grant the departed peace in eternity, to heal those who have been injured, to keep this heinous act from happening again, to reveal the unscrupulous animals involved and to bring them to justice.

 Abubakar Kiyawa Magarya, a Facebook user, revealed that his older brother perished in the assault in the meantime.
