The 26-year-old man known as AK first connected with his wife, 26-year-old Adinda Kanza, on Instagram in 2023.
The two went on in-person dates for a year. Twelve days after their wedding, the groom finds out his bride is actually a maAdinda veiled her full face with a traditional Muslim niqab for their in-person encounters, which AK apparently saw as a sign of her devotion to Islam.
Once Adinda revealed to him that she was familyless, the two made the decision to wed in a short ceremony at AK's house.
However, as soon as they were married on April 12, AK developed misgivings about his new spouse because, according to the South China Morning Post, she shied away from closeness by informing him that she was either sick or on her period.
Twelve days after their wedding, AK hunted for Adinda's previous residence when she refused to speak to him and persisted in wearing her niqab at home.
To his amazement, he discovered her parents were still living there.
It was disclosed by Adinda's parents that AK's spouse was, in fact, a man named ESH who began dressed as a woman around 2020.
They added that they had no idea their son was even dating, much less married.
Adinda spoke and behaved like a woman, according to the police, who also noted that Adinda looked just like a real woman in their wedding pictures.
There was no doubt whatsoever that he was a lady because of his soft voice and tone.
According to local media sources, ESH was caught by the police and informed them he planned to marry AK in order to embezzle his family's wealth.
Charges of fraud may send him to prison for a maximum of four years.
