In Borno, Zamfara, troops kill six terrorists and free 48 hostages.

According to the Nigerian Army, during a counterterrorism operation, its forces confronted terrorists in the Northeast and were able to kill six Boko Haram/ISWAP militants and free 48 hostages. 

The Nigerian Army stated in a statement posted on its official Facebook page on Thursday that while on a combat patrol in the villages of Fulatari and Kago in the Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, they came into contact with the terrorists.

A heavy exchange of gunfire broke out during the encounter, and the outnumbered terrorists left their hostages behind. 

It stated The statement said that one adult male, twenty adult females, and twenty-seven children were among the hostages who were freed as a result of the military' prompt action.

The soldiers also found a bicycle, three AK-47 rifle magazines, five rounds of 7.62mm x 51mm ammo, a bandolier, a Phantom armored personnel carrier, and an APC. 

It stated In a distinct and well-coordinated endeavor, the military, in conjunction with the Civilian Joint Task Force and Hybrid Forces Group, initiated an aggressive campaign aimed at the terrorists' strongholds in Garin Gulukos and Sabil Huda.

A Hilux car, a Canter Troops Carrying Vehicle, seven rounds of 7.62 x 51mm ammunition, two motorbikes, four bicycles, three solar panels, a power generating set, an HP laser jet printer, and a cell phone without a SIM card were among the terrorists' supplies that were seized and exhausted as a result of the operation. 

In order to interfere with the terrorists' operations, a functional borehole inside their stronghold was also demolished. It added,
