A psychiatric doctor, alongside three other nurses escaped being killed as Ogun psychiatric patients revolt, protest poor treatment.

The capital of Ogun State, Abeokuta, is home to the Neuropshyatric Hospital, where psychiatric patients have complained about the subpar care they are receiving.

The violent demonstration reportedly continued for more than two hours before police officers from the Lafenwa Divisional Headquarters intervened and stabilized the situation, according to Channels Television.

During the violent protest, a psychiatrist and three other nurses are said to have averted death.

The report states that every time the hospital's energy supply was interrupted by the distribution firm, the patients at the Aro Neuropsychiatric facility protested over their inadequate food, unhygienic conditions, and lack of alternate electricity.

Prior to some of the partially healed patients resorting to protesting the situation, several relatives of the patients on admission said that the issue had been going on for some time.

Depending on how long they stayed at the facility, each impacted patient paid between N500,000 and N700,000, according to a female relative of one of the patients who was admitted.

Ajibola, the facility's public relations officer, stated that the issue was "just an internal affair" and that it had been resolved, adding that it was not noteworthy enough to be covered by the media.

Enatufe Omoh, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for Lafenwa, asserted that only one of the psychiatrists was attacked, despite the fact that he was bitten in several places by the demonstrating patients who were being admitted.

According to Omoh, the demonstrators at the medical center were upset with their supervisors because they weren't granted certain privileges.

However, he denied that anyone had died throughout the protest's duration.
