Omoyele Sowore Calls for Prosecution of AIS in Abuja Over Alleged Money Laundering Scandal with Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello.

Prominent Nigerian activist Omoyele Sowore is calling for the prosecution of the American International School (AIS) in Abuja over alleged money laundering involving former Kogi state governor Yahaya Bello and his ex-Chief of Staff, Ali Bello.

Sowore contends that Bello and his aide funneled nearly $1 million through the guise of "future school fees" for their children at AIS, suggesting that, akin to the American justice system, the school should face legal repercussions instead of just returning the funds.

He urges the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to ensure full disclosure of such payments made by Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), suggesting that uncovering these transactions could expose widespread financial misconduct.

If found guilty, Sowore advocates for converting AIS into a public school, arguing against its involvement in aiding financial criminals in Nigeria.
