On Saturday, March 2, 2024, Mr. Ibu passed away due to a cardiac attack, as stated by Mr. Don Single Nwuzor, who served as his manager for 24 years.
The seasoned actor needed financial support after it was announced that he was unwell in October 2023.
However, Okafor's family revealed in November 2023 that he had had one of his legs amputated in order to preserve his life.
An infection in the ankle's arteries that was not identified in time led to the need for the amputation.
Apparently, there is a video available that shows his last moments. He was heard thanking Paul from Psquare for being at the hospital all the time.
