Alleged Kidnapper Charged with Murdering Traditional Rulers in Ekiti State has been apprehended.

 


In Ekiti State, the police have arraigned Bubuga Lede, aged 25, one of the alleged kidnappers who reportedly murdered two traditional rulers.

 Inspector Osuolale Yomi, the police prosecutor, informed the Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti of the need to remand the defendant at the Correctional Custody for 30 days, citing probable cause. Read more

Yomi stated that the defendant is suspected of offenses including conspiracy to kidnap, attempted murder, and murder of Oba David Babatunde Ogunsakin and Oba Samuel Olatunde Ishola. 

Additionally, it was alleged that the defendant attempted to kidnap Oba Samuel Adebayo Fatoba and Bamidele Ibikunle Joseph, the driver. 

These charges fall under Section 280, 241, and 234 of the Criminal Code Law of Ekiti State 2021. 

The defendant was apprehended in Ikole-Ekiti on January 29 with offensive weapons, and the case file has been sent to the Ekiti State DPP for legal guidance.

 Represented by Barrister Olusoji Oladele, the defendant was ordered by Magistrate O. F. Bamidele to be remanded at the Ado-Ekiti Correctional Custody for 30 days pending legal advice from the DPP. The case is adjourned until April 24 for mention. Continue reading
