A Nigerian father lamented the unconscionable increase in the cost of baby food and decided to feed his 5-month-old son the traditional Nigerian cuisine "Eba," which is prepared from cassava.

In a video that has gone viral on the internet, the father opened up about his suffering by saying that the costs of popular baby food brands SME Gold and Cerelac have increased to N25,000 and N12,000, respectively.

Talking about how his small son had already finished fourteen tins of Cerelac and seven cans of SME Gold, he joked that he would have to start giving his child Eba morsels since he was running out of money for food.

He said, in part, “As from tomorrow, you go start to eat eba”.
