On the third day of the search for the suspected chemical attacker, Abdul Shokoor Ezedi, accused of a targeted assault on a mother and her two daughters in Clapham, south London, it has been revealed that he, a convicted sex offender and former asylum seeker from Afghanistan, was allowed to stay in the UK after claiming a conversion to Christianity, as attested by a priest.Continue reading

Ezedi, 35, allegedly carried out the horrifying attack on Lessar Road at 7.25pm, causing life-changing injuries to the mother and her daughters, aged three and eight.

Despite two previous failed applications, he was granted permission to remain in the UK in either 2020 or 2021 based on his third application, supported by the religious conversion claim.

The Met has urged the public to avoid the 'dangerous' Ezedi, who suffered significant injuries in the incident, evident in CCTV footage showing severe burns to his face.

The attack, described as targeted, involved Ezedi hurling a corrosive substance at the vulnerable victims from a metal coffee cup.

The mother and her daughters are hospitalized with life-changing injuries, while witnesses reported their skin turning black and peeling away upon contact with the toxic chemical.

Local residents and five police officers also sustained injuries while aiding the victims. Ezedi, believed to have traveled around 250 miles from Newcastle, carried out the assault on a woman known to him.

Disturbing footage shows the mother and her daughter standing in front of the attacker's car, holding their faces in distress. Continue reading from the source
