The suit, filed under seal, comes just before the planned premiere of Lifetime's documentary "Where Is Wendy Williams?" exploring her life under guardianship.

A source close to the case suggests the lawsuit aims to block the documentary's airing.

A hearing is scheduled for next week to decide on unsealing the documents.

Meanwhile, the two-part documentary, "Who is Wendy Williams?" is set to premiere over the weekend, with Williams and her son listed as executive producers.

Williams' family alleges being kept away from her since her court-ordered guardianship in April 2022.

Additionally, her care team revealed that she has been diagnosed with primary aggressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia, conditions that have presented significant challenges in her life and necessitated diligent medical care.
