Tesla announces a recall of nearly 2 million cars in the US, implementing a software update to limit Autopilot use.

This follows a two-year probe by US safety regulators into approximately 1,000 crashes involving the Autopilot feature.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) emphasizes the need for drivers to remain fully attentive, citing concerns about a false sense of security.

The over-the-air software update aims to enhance warnings for inattentive driving during Autosteer activation.

The recall comes after a Washington Post investigation revealed serious accidents, prompting Tesla to reinforce safety guidelines and mail notifications to car owners about the upcoming changes.
