Hunter Biden, son of US President Joe Biden, is facing nine charges, including three felonies, for allegedly evading over $1 million in taxes while leading an extravagant lifestyle.
The indictment accuses him of a four-year scheme involving tax evasion, false returns, and misuse of company funds for personal expenses.
Hunter Biden has also been charged with failure to pay and failure to file misdemeanors for multiple tax years.
The case, assigned to Judge Mark Scarsi, comes amid previous charges related to false statements in acquiring a firearm.
The first son, who has pleaded not guilty, could face up to 17 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
Additionally, IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley alleges that Biden avoided taxes on $8.3 million in income from 2014 to 2019, a period when he served on the boards of Burisma Holdings and BHR Partners, raising concerns about potential violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act.
