Hamas Threatens Further Violence Against Israelis: Abu Obeida Issues Chilling Warning After Recent Attacks.

Hamas has declared its intention to carry out additional acts of violence against Israeli civilians, issuing a warning of more severe actions.

Abu Obeida, the spokesperson for Hamas's armed wing, made this threat over two months after an attack in southern Israel that resulted in the death of 1,200 people.

Obeida specifically referred to a shooting incident at a Jerusalem bus stop on November 30, stating that what is to come will be more intense.

Three Israeli civilians lost their lives in this attack. Obeida's warning is coupled with a threat to execute Israeli hostages unless Hamas's demands are met.

Israel claims 137 hostages in Gaza, while activists estimate around 7,000 Palestinians in Israeli jails. Despite a temporary truce, Obeida asserts that none of the enemy's prisoners will be released except on Hamas's terms.

In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned the group to surrender immediately or face certain death.

As both sides continue hostilities, prospects for a ceasefire diminish, with Israel indicating a willingness for a prolonged fight to eradicate Hamas entirely.

Israeli tanks are pushing further west in the battle against Hamas around Khan Younis, prompting UN officials to renew calls for a ceasefire to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe.

The fighting in Khan Younis follows Israel's shift of its war effort to the south after displacing a significant portion of Gaza's population from their homes in the north.
