Downtown Prague Tragedy: 10 Dead, 30 Injured in University Shooting at Jan Palach Square.

 

A shooting in downtown Prague, Czech Republic, resulted in 10 fatalities and around 30 injuries. 

The incident occurred at Jan Palach Square, prompting the evacuation of Charles University's philosophy department. Prague Mayor Bohuslav Svoboda confirmed the casualties and urged residents to stay indoors. 

The gunman, who targeted the university, was reported dead. Czech Interior Minister Vit Rakusan assured no other assailants were present.

 Prime Minister Petr Fiala canceled scheduled events, and Czech President Petr Pavel, in Paris, expressed shock and condolences for the victims' families in a post on X.
