CAC: Senate Committee on Finance Demands Registrar General's Appearance Amid Budget Discrepancies.

The Senate Committee on Finance expresses frustration as the Registrar General of the Corporate Affairs Commission, Garba Lawal, fails to appear for the third time to address financial discrepancies in the CAC 2024 budget.

The committee invokes Section 89(2) to mandate the Inspector General of Police to compel Lawal's appearance within 24 hours.

The Senate Committee on Finance has directed the Inspector General of Police to ensure the Registrar General of the Corporate Affairs Commission, Garba Lawal, appears before the committee within 24 hours.

This decision comes after Lawal ignored the committee's invitation for the third time. The committee, led by Sani Musa, expressed frustration over the absence of Lawal, who was supposed to explain discrepancies in the CAC 2024 budget.

Senator Bello Mandiya criticized Lawal's disrespect, while Senator Abdul Ningi urged CAC officials not to return without the Registrar General, emphasizing the need for him to clarify financial matters.

Chairman Sani Musa invoked Section 89(2), compelling the Inspector General of Police to ensure Lawal's prompt appearance.
