Adamawa State Government Launches Massive Livestock Immunization Campaign to Combat ASF, FMD, PPR, CBPP, and Animal Trypanosomosis, Bolstering Public Health and Economic Growth.

 In order to prevent transboundary animal diseases such as African Swine Fever (ASF), Foot and Mouth Diseases (FMD), Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR), Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia (CBPP), and Animal Trypanosomosis, the Adamawa State Government has launched a widespread immunization campaign for cattle. Governor Ahmadu Fintiri noted the industry's contribution to the state's GDP while highlighting the importance of vaccinations for public health. 

This comes after the federal government revealed a year prior that transboundary livestock diseases were costing Nigeria N29 billion a year.

 Targeting diseases that impact cattle and small ruminants, the vaccine campaign hopes to maintain public health and stimulate the state of Adamawa's economy.
