Li, in his final year at Henan's Pingdingshan Vocational and Technical College, was under contract with a media company for an internship required for graduation.
The contract required him to livestream for 240 hours in 26 days, alongside his academic responsibilities.
Li was found unresponsive by housemates, who called an ambulance. Records indicated he streamed from 9 pm to 6 am for five days before his death.
The media company denied pressuring him but acknowledged challenges in work-life balance for livestreamers.
They offered the family £555 in compensation, with further requests directed to legal channels.
Li's father is considering legal action and seeking compensation through insurance companies.
