In a series of posts, Sheila refuted claims that she tricked Israel into marrying her. She also rejected assertions that, since her parents were already living comfortably before she met him, his arrival improved things in her life.
She said that since Israel was never forced to do anything for her or her family, everything he did was done voluntarily. She made insinuations that she frequently experienced panic attacks, was frequently threatened, and was shut out of their marital residence without cause. She implied that Israel had also accused her of abstaining from pregnancy by taking drugs, depriving her of her agency. According to her, Israel never wanted to take responsibility for anything, not even the money that was thrown at them during their nuptials. Sheila said that despite her attempts to encourage him to be productive, he would constantly argue, saying things like "them no dey control Edo man."
