Despite a court order restraining the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress from initiating a nationwide indefinite strike starting Tuesday, the gates remain shut.
Last week, the unions issued a strike notice over the assault on Joe Ajaero, the NLC President, on November 1, 2023, in Imo State.
As of 12:23 pm on Tuesday, all entrances to the National Assembly are locked, leaving many workers stranded. Nevertheless, plenary continues in the House of Representatives amid the lockdown.
