This incident unfolded at the prominent Otukpo main roundabout on November 7, 2023, as eyewitnesses reported.

The suspect involved in the motorcycle theft was identified as hailing from Odejo in the Agatu Local Government Area of the state.

 According to an eyewitness named Sunday Abah, the suspect had allegedly stolen the motorcycle from its owner, an act that occurred outside the Otukpo main market. However, the stolen motorcycle ran out of fuel, leading to the suspect's capture by the locals.

The response from the mob was severe, as they subjected the accused individual to a brutal beating. Unfortunately, the situation escalated to a horrifying extent, with the mob resorting to setting the man ablaze. 

Such incidents highlight the dangers of mob justice and the need for a more organized and lawful approach to handling criminal activities and allegations.
