Multiple sources in Oduduwa Estate, Ile-Ife confirmed to our correspondent on Wednesday morning that the officers had stormed into the Fine Touch and Superb hostels at around two in the morning, taken the students into prison, and invaded the hostels.

The reason(s) for the arrest were still unknown at the time of publication, however Abass Ojo, President of the pupils' organization, revealed that the organization had information on "72 pupils chosen from the hostle with phones and cars taken away.

Our correspondent was told by former union officer Joy Abiola that the kids had suffered physical attack.

The officials from the EFCC arrived between 1:40 and 4:00 in the morning. Joy remarked, "How can you arrest people for owning iPhones, laptops, and cars? Only students stay in those hostels."

"Among those picked up were female students," stated another student, who went by the name Ewatee. Arrested were even several first-year students who had only gone to welcome their more experienced peers. The strategy is flawed.

A video that one of the students supplied to our correspondent shows some young individuals who were apparently dorm students being forced into a white Hummer Bus by security officers who thrashed them and gave them commands to get inside.

In another footage, a white Hummer Bus was seen going with about six additional cars. The pupils claimed that the authorities were relocating to Ibadan from the Ile-Ife region.

The head of the EFCC's Public Affairs Department at the Ibadan Zonal Command, Olumide Egbodofo, offered to provide an update on the issue when contacted.

The spokeswoman said, "A press statement regarding that will be released soon."

As of the time of publication, Abiodun Olarewaju, the university's spokesperson, could not be reached at his phone number.
