Tragedy Strikes in Maiduguri: Daughter of Borno State House of Assembly Member Found Strangled, Sparking Community Outcry

 


On Tuesday, October 17, in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, tragedy struck as unknown assailants strangled Amma Buwa, the daughter of Honorable Bukar Abacha, a Member of the Borno State House of Assembly representing Ngala local government area. Read full article 

Residents of the area reported that the attackers targeted Amma Buwa when her husband briefly stepped out of their home to attend prayers at a nearby mosque. Upon returning, he discovered his lifeless wife with her hands and legs tied behind her back, while their two-year-old child cried beside her.

The husband promptly took his wife's body to the police station, leading to the Gwange Police Division evacuating the corpse to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital for an autopsy and investigation.

This horrifying incident caused significant tension and pandemonium in the area, attracting a large crowd of concerned residents.

As shared by a family source on social media, the deceased would be laid to rest on Wednesday morning in Maiduguri.


“Inna lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un. Mrs Amma Buwa is killed by some hoodlums earlier today after isha prayer, where some unknown men invaded into her house after her husband left to the masjid for isha prayer. Amma is the daughter of member Representing ngala at the state house of Assembly. The janaiza (burial) will take place at 777 Housing Estate by 10am in Maiduguri. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.” he wrote.
