The state House of Assembly members started the impeachment proceedings of Fubara on Monday. In the meantime, the governor said he had done nothing to warrant his dismissal.

Speaking to his supporters at the Assembly Complex, the governor declared, "Let them come out and tell Rivers people the offence I have committed to warrant any impeachment."
