Ike made these comments while appearing on Cool FM Nigeria's Big Friday Show, which is hosted by fellow reality TV star, Tacha. He explained, "I didn't rekindle my relationship with Mercy in the just concluded Big Brother Naija All Stars season because we are better off as friends. At least for me, I always feel like when you go back to an ex, you might not always get what you want."

It's worth noting that Ike and Mercy's relationship began during the Big Brother Naija 'Pepper Dem' season in 2019 but faced difficulties after the show.
