For the first time, unheard evidence of Princess Diana revealing how Charles was 'disappointed' when Prince Harry was born because 'we wanted a daughter' have been published.

For the first time, previously unheard audio of Princess Diana say that King Charles claimed he was "disappointed" when Prince Harry was born because the pair "wanted a girl."  Read the full story

Diana recorded the audio for her biographer Andrew Morton in the 1990s. Morton later released the best-selling book Diana: Her True Story.
A day after the 26th anniversary of Diana's death in a car accident, snippets of the films, which are scheduled to show in a future documentary, have been made available in the US.

At Prince Harry's christening in 1984, Diana alleges on the video that Charles said to Raine Spencer, her stepmother, "We're so disappointed, we wanted a girl.

Then, according to Diana, the Countess Spencer "snapped his head off" and advised him to "realise you are lucky to have a child."

Because the films were made public just one week before his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, passed away, King Charles may suffer disproportionately as a result.

The new film, which was announced on Good Morning America, the top programme on US network ABC, is a sequel to the 2017 film Diana: In Her Own Words.

Disney + should air it in the first few months of 2019. Prior to this interview, GMA on ABC featured both Harry and Meghan.

The Duchess of Sussex appeared on GMA in January to promote the Disney documentary Elephant, which she narrated, while Prince Harry promoted his memoir Spare on the network.

Until the network severed relations with her after her argument with black influencer Sasha Exeter, Jessica Mulroney, a former close friend of Meghan, contributed to ABC's fashion section.

Producer of the 2017 and forthcoming documentaries Tom Jennings told ABC that when the first video was released, viewers were astounded because they had never heard Diana speak in such a way.

The author continued, "It's a kind of narrative that is really challenging to achieve, but I think it is the closest you can come to the truth since nothing stands in your way.

"It is crucial to allow more of those tapes to be heard as part of Diana's legacy."

While still married to King Charles, who was then the Prince of Wales, the Princess captured seven hours of audio.

But not all of the audio was audible in the 2017 film.

Diana claims that Charles allegedly made the following remarks regarding the birth of Prince Harry: "At Harry's christening Charles went up to mummy and said: "We're so sad, we wanted a girl," but mummy snapped his head off and said you should realise you are lucky to have a child that's normal."

The shutters have been down ever since that day. When someone responds to him, he responds in that way.

Diana's dislike towards her stepmother, whom her father John had married in 1976 after her mother Frances departed, is revealed in another clip.

Diana is heard saying: 'I was so angry. I told her, "I hate you so much. If only you knew how much we all hated you for what you've done. "You've ruined the house, you've spent Daddy's money." I said everything I possibly could and Raine said, "you have no idea how much pain mother put your father through." 'I said, "Pain, Raine? That's one word you don't even know how to relate to." "In my job and in my role, I see people suffer like you've never seen. And you call that pain?" I said, "you've got a lot to learn."' Diana and her siblings are said to have referred to their stepmother as 'Acid Raine' and often sang 'Raine, Raine, go away!' In another clip, which was previously revealed in the 2017 documentary, Diana speaks of her 'ridiculous' wedding to Charles in 1981. She says: 'It was so grown up. Here's Diana, a kindergarten teacher. I mean the whole thing was ridiculous.' Mr Morton's book, which was originally published in 1992, told the 'true' story of Diana's marriage to the then Prince Charles, which, contrary to the public image at the time, was in deep trouble.
