Gunmen opened fire on a crowd of people that had congregated in a Colon building on Sunday, September 3, resulting in the tragedy. One of them was Gilberto Hernández.
In the assault, Hernández perished and seven other people were hurt.
In a statement, the Panama Football League confirmed the information.
The Panama federation also released a statement in which it expressed regret over Gilberto Hernandez's untimely death.
