While going over the things that had been acquired for the big wedding, Sheikh Aminu Daurawa, the commander-general of the Kano State Hisbah board, made the discovery. He stated that the state government had set out more than 800 million naira for the buying of the bride's price as well as other stuff like furniture, clothing, food, and other things.
He said that each bride will get a set of beds and bedding in addition to 20,000 yen to assist start a business.
Aminu also disclosed that affluent individuals and benefactors have pledged to help the planned mass wedding succeed.
Aminu emphasized that at least 1,800 couples are predicted to benefit from the kind deed, which he feels will address the social vices and poverty that afflict the community.
He added that many marriages were routinely delayed because parents couldn't afford to pay for the wedding expenses.
The date and venue of the mass wedding, however, would be made known to all parties concerned as soon as the necessary arrangements were made. He also made a plea to benefactors to assist in realizing the intended objectives.
In addition, the commander-general said that criteria had been developed for choosing beneficiaries and issued a warning that anyone convicted of divorcing his wife after the mass wedding would have to pay for the free gifts he had gotten from the state government.
He urged wealthy people to support the state government by helping the less fortunate members of society tie the knot in order to live in peace in order to ensure the success of the mass wedding.
