HomeNEWS Peter Obi's Labour Party provides a justification for asking "Obidients" to begin planning for a second presidential election. byBendelnews Nigeria •2:39:00 PM On Monday, July 10, 2023, he made these remarks during a virtual meeting with the Nigerian-American Coalition for Justice and Democracy, which is run by Prof. Eddie Oparaoji, the Lap Chairman in the US.He claimed that the party had learned that President Bola Tinubu's All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration was preparing for a second election.Additionally, Abure asked the party's millions of members to remain on guard and prepare ready to "further humiliate" the APC and its administration at the polls."The government is currently making plans for a reelection, and we will be asking for your help in this regard. Since everyone in government is already planning for a rerun, we too shouldn't be caught off guard, thus we should be preparing as well."So, if par chance it occurs tonight that the election is declared invalid, which is not what we are asking for, we would need your engagement and support on this issue. We are asking for the unequivocal declaration of Peter Obi as the President of Nigeria. We are anticipating Peter Obi to be sworn in as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria because we are so confident that we won the election based on the statistics and outcome we have. It would also not be out of place for us to be getting ready for a rerun election if that weren't the case, Abure remarked, given the administration is rumored to be planning one.The leader of the LP stated that the party is hopeful that the Supreme Court will rule in their favor if the case makes it there.Additionally, Ambassador Oseloka Obaze, the Director of the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign, asked ObiDatti members abroad to view the fight "for recovering of our mandate" as a war."We can play a key role in promoting democratic governance, justice, and socioeconomic advancement in Nigeria through lobbying, human rights promotion, capacity building, investment, support for education and healthcare, diaspora participation, and policy advocacy. The diaspora community, he said, "can be a catalyst for positive change and contribute to Nigeria's long-term development goal of powering up that new Nigeria of our dream," thanks to its wide network and resources.
