Emefiele will be charged with "illegal possession of firearms" on Tuesday.

The court has given hearing notices to the attorneys engaged in the case, and it has been learned that Joseph Daudu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), would be representing the defendant and Nicholas Oweibo will preside over the hearing.

A two-count accusation concerning the suspected possession of firearms has been brought against Emefiele.

According to TheCable, Emefiele is charged with owning a single-barrel shotgun (JOJEFF MAGNUM 8371) without a license in the first count.

In the second count, the suspended CBN governor is charged with violating Section 8 of the Firearms Act and Section 27 (1)(b)(il) of the same Act by possessing 123 rounds of live ammunition (cartridges) without a permit.
