In their summertime pursuit of Moises Caicedo from Brighton, Chelsea has taken another hit.
The Guardian reports that Chelsea's attempts to sign Caicedo from Brighton had "reached an impasse."
Chelsea's main midfield target for the upcoming summer transfer window is Caicedo, although Brighton rejected Chelsea's most recent bid of £70 million for the player.
Brighton are certain that the Ecuadorian international will not be sold for less than £100 million - unless the Blues are willing to let Levi Colwill move in the other direction as part of a swap deal. Chelsea are preparing a new bid of £80 million plus add-ons.
Colwill will eventually develop into one of the top centre backs in the English Premier League, but Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is unwilling to let him go.
