The woman, from Nnobi in the Idemmili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, was found dead in the hotel pool on Sunday morning after being lynched and dumped there.
Her whereabouts are unknown, however sources suggest she was in the club when fighting broke out and Mr. Gabriel Chinemere and his friends started hitting her.
"She was accused of picking up money that the partygoers were throwing on their friend, who was celebrating his birthday, by one of the clubgoers.
Others claimed that she chose bundles of cash that a clubber had put by his seat side and was preparing to spray on the celebrant, the insider added.
According to a frequent clubgoer at the Cosmila Hotel, "Some of these girls merely dress up and come to the club and start to gather money. These girls will simply select the money while you spray your friends, pocketing it.
"The females get away with the money because the men are already inebriated at the club. While I was not present at the club last weekend, I heard that the female went after some cash that had been left by his seat and that he was about to go and spray. That is what took place.
DP discovered that despite the clubgoers' best efforts to save the girl, they persisted in abusing and beating her.
Later, she was hauled outside the club, and her dead body was thrown into the hotel's pool.
DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokeswoman for the Anambra State Police, verified the occurrence and stated that the birthday boy and his companions were already in detention while the case was being probed.
"Contrary to what many are alleging about the Cosmila Hotel's cooperation, we had help from the hotel management in apprehending the individuals.
"Investigation is still ongoing," he declared.
