The Speaker of the 10th House has been named as Kaduna State's Tajudeen Abbas, a member of the House of Representatives.
Idris Wase and Aminu Jaji each received three votes, while Mr. Abbas easily defeated his two opponents by garnering 353 votes.
Two guys received votes from both themselves and the legislators who proposed them.
Ado Doguwa, a former majority leader, proposed Mr. Abbas, and PDP member Nnaji Nnolim seconded his nomination.
Muhammed Abdulmummin seconded Tijjani Ismail's nomination of the former deputy speaker.
Ahmed Doro and Mr. Jaji were both nominated.
However, Sada Soli and Miriam Onuoha did not make any announcements on their withdrawal from the event, no one nominated them.
