Guiness World Records has just officially ratified Hilda Baci's marathon cooking record.
Hilda Baci, a Nigerian chef, on Tuesday received formal confirmation from Guinness World Records (GWR) that she had completed the longest cooking marathon.
The organisation announced Hilda Baci as the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon (individual) via its official Twitter account: "After reviewing all the footage, we're delighted to announce that Hilda Baci is the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon (individual)."
With a time of 93 hours and 11 minutes, Baci reportedly holds the record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
According to Bendelnews, Hilda tried to break a record by working for 100 hours, but her final total was reduced by nearly seven hours since she had accidentally taken longer than intended during one of her rest breaks earlier in the endeavour.
The 26-year-old chef, who was born in Akwa, Ibom, started cooking on May 11 and proceeded until May 15, 2023, when she cooked more than 100 pots of meals.
Guinness World Records (GWR) acknowledged Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, for her accomplishment on its website on Tuesday, writing: "Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes."
