JUST IN: Ehizogie Ogbebor Sued By Lagos State Government For Invading personal income tax

Interior designer Ehizogie Ogbebor was charged with 12 counts by the Lagos State Government on Monday for allegedly failing to tax.

The defendant, who is also well-known on Instagram, allegedly refused to pay personal income tax to the state's internal revenue agency starting in 2014 and continuing to the present, according to the state's prosecution counsel, Mr. A. I. Alli.

The defendant, in Alli's opinion, has dodged taxes despite being a taxable personality.

The Personal Income Tax Act, Cap. P8, Laws of the Federation, 2004, Sections 41 and 94 (1), as well as Sections 56(a) and (b) of the Lagos State Revenue Administration Law, No. 8, 2006, were violated, according to him.

Alli informed the court that he had a move for substituted service when the issue was discussed on Monday.

He said he was unable to deliver the charge to the defendant.

As a result, Alli requested that the court issue an order directing substituted service on the defendant.

He stated, "We request the court's permission for substituted service to post the notice on the defendant's last known address, at plot 59, Fola Osibo St, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.

In a brief decision, Justice Yetunde Adesanya approved the request for alternative service.

She postponed the case's hearing until October 26.
