At least 25 persons have been slain by bandits in raids on two communities in Zamfara State's Maradun local government area.
Only a week had passed since 16 vigilantes and numerous others were killed in the Kanoma region of the state's Maru local government area when the attacks took place on Saturday, June 3, 2023.
Residents informed bendelnews that criminals attacked the village of Janbako and killed about 20 people with guns.
Around 2:00 p.m., they rode into the town on motorcycles and started shooting at the locals. Residents, who were extremely terrified, hastened into their homes for safety, according to Buhari Saminu, a local.
The armed criminals then went to the community of Sakkida and killed five people there.
Governor Dauda Lawal, who has called the attack barbarous, has stated that his administration will not stand by and let criminal groups carry out terror attacks without penalties.
The governor, who was represented by his senior special assistant for broadcast media, public affairs, and press relations, Mustapha Jafaru Kaura, emphasised that the unfortunate incident occurred as his administration was putting great effort into formulating a plan to end the state's ongoing security issue.
"To prevent future loss of life and property in the area, an order has been issued to the Heads of security agencies in the state to urgently deploy more security personnel to the affected communities.
